What Is the Transportation Problem?
The transportation problem is concerned with finding optimal ways to ship products from supply centers to demand centers.
In this episode of the Data Science Roadshow, we outline the steps in the data science process used to address the transportation problem. We describe the problem, run through a simple example by hand, and then solve a larger problem connecting supply and demand forecasting, using functions from IMSL C Numerical Library.
